We could not let the 2020-21 season close without congratulating our two West London trophy winners Brentford and Chelsea! Brentford are back in the topflight after 74 years (1947 old First Division) beating the record of Bradford (the old City not Bradford ParkAvenue), being 70 years away. Brentford become the 50th Club to play in the Premier League (PL). They have more stars than the goal scorers Ivan Toney (33 for the season) and midfielder Emiliano Marcondes, who like their excellent Head Coach Thomas Frank is Danish, a new ground and great support. Chelsea Head Coach Thomas Tuchel outmanoeuvred Pep Guardiola of Manchester City for the 3rd time in as many matches but this was the biggest one! He also met owner RomanAbramovich for the first time and may get an extra year on his contract but must be aware even winners do not last long at Chelsea! N’Golo Kante was man-of-the-match outshining his brilliant team-mates and the under-performing and perhaps inappropriately selected opponents. Congratulations again to Chelsea on their second Champions League win!
