My first football match was Notts County versus Brentford in the mid 1950s, while sitting on my father's knee. Next it was trips to Lincoln City when in the old Second Division, and then in the 1962-63 season my father took me to White Hart Lane. Once I had seen the incomparable Jimmy Greaves score that was it! My education and profession took me round the country, but wherever I was I tried to watch the local team, always read the football scores first and now I have retired from my professional life it is time to get serious about football, and London teams in particular!
