Fulham thoroughly deserved this win with a strong performance in which they outplayed Tottenham Hotspur in every way. Their star player was 22 years old Rodrigo Muniz (aka Muniz Carvalho) who has now scored 7 goals in his last 7 games, having scored only one in his previous 17 for The Cottagers. Everyone was equally off form for Spurs, even the normally reliable “100 percenter” Dejan Kulusevski. Captain Son Heung-min described his own performance, and the team’s, as being unacceptable.

For Spurs this meant the end of a 39 Premier League (PL) matches run in which they had scored at least one goal. That doesn’t mean they had won every match! In that run they had only kept 7 clean-sheets (1 in 5-6 games) and therein is their well-known Achilles heel. They will be wanting to start another run when they entertain Luton Town on Easter Saturday. This is not a Premier London Derby (PLDs) match but close to one. The next PLDs match is West Ham United v Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday 2 April.

Congratulations to West Ham United who beat Freiburg of the German Bundesliga 5-0 in the second leg of their UEFA Europa League round of 16 tie for a 5-1 aggregate win. They will now face Bayer Leverkusen in the Quarterfinals away on 11 April and home on 18th. Bayer Leverkusen beat Freiburg in the Bundesliga to maintain their 10-point lead in that league. In second place are the mighty Bayern Munich, likely to miss-out on a 12th successive league title, who will be Arsenal’s opponents in the UEFA Champions League Quarterfinals at home on 9 April and away on 11 April. Harry Kane will “come home” but will he take another step towards a UEFA Club Competition Final?

Until next time, “Keep Safe”, and enjoy your football, Andrew at PLDs.
