“Hammers and Spurs boosted by away wins.”

Premier London Derbies (PLDs) are back this weekend with matches on both days. On Saturday 30 November it is West Ham United v Arsenal, and on Sunday 1 December 2024 we have Tottenham Hotspur v Fulham.

The Hammers had a very welcome away win 0-2 v Newcastle United on Monday 25 November. They will be hoping the confidence will stop this PLDs match being another away win for The Gunners as 5 of the last 8 have been with 3 draws. There are usually goals with 6 last season for Arsenal! Their confidence should in turn be sky high after a 1-5 away win to Sporting Lisbon in the UEFA Champions League which put them 7th.

Tottenham Hotspur had a very convincing, if not surprising, away win 0-4 at ailing Premier League (PL) Champions Manchester City last weekend. Nothing went wrong and everything went right even after a 0-2 half-time lead! Fulham in contrast were on the wrong end of 4 goals losing 1-4 at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers. There have been 3 home wins and 1 draw for The Lilywhites in the 4 times this PLDs fixture has been played in the last 8 seasons. Another home win would continue their upward momentum in the PL and make up in part for the disappointment of a late equalizer by visiting AS Roma in the UEFA Europa League which leaves Spurs 9th on goal difference.

Until next time, “Keep Safe” and enjoy your football, Andrew at PLDs.
