Played Sunday 11 May 2025 at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, att. 60,254.
Another dismal performance by Tottenham Hotspur sees them closer to a new record for the most defeats in a top-flight season and worst place in the Premier League (PL). They, among many, may covert Crystal Palace’s star forward Eberechi Eze but would he want to play for such a shambolic side when he is already an England International? He delivered his match winning goals at typical Spurs sucker-punch times just before and just after half time. Crystal Palace were efficient, able to play within themselves and came away with no new injuries before the FA Cup Final and a record PL points score.
Sunday 18 May 2025 sees the last Premier London Derbies (PLDs) match of the 2024-25 PL season with Brentford V Fulham. This fixture has only been played twice in the PL and was 0-0 last season and 3-2 in season 2022-23. Two wins in their last two games would give Brentford 8th place and 61 points – their best PL season to date. With it would come more questions about keeping their Head Coach Thomas Frank and star players. Fulham are securely mid table (11th with 51 points) but 3 points here would push them into the top half of the table. Who said the 2024-25 season was over already for these Clubs even if it’s only pride and money at stake in this West London derby?
Until next time, “Keep Safe” and enjoy your football, Andrew at PLDs.
