Tottenham Hotspur laid a ghost before Christmas with a convincing display and home win v Brentford in this Premier London Derbies (PLDs) match. It was only their 3rd home win in 16 PL matches in this calendar year 2025. They were fluid with accurate incisive passes, particularly from Xavi Simons who is beginning to look like he may be worth the money and should have scored more. For once the crowd finished up on their side with a glimmer of optimism – at least until Christmas! Brentford threatened little except through Brazilian striker Igor Thiago, but their away form is as poor as Spurs’ home.
Fulham (1) 1 v 2 (1) Crystal Palace
38 Wilson, assist Jimenez 20 Nketiah, assist Wharton
87 Guehi, assist Pino
Yellows: none none Referee: Samuel Barrott
Played Sunday 7 December 2025 at Craven Cottage, attendance 27,283.
A crowd less than half that in North London watched this very entertaining PLDs match. It was end to end with neat and fast build-up play, and chances made, missed, and saved by two experienced goalkeepers. Fulham took the lead only for Crystal Palace to then steal it through their Captain Marc Guehi’s 87th minute header from a corner. He may not be the only Eagles’ England international coveted elsewhere in the PL -midfielder Adam Wharton’s passing was exemplary. No one was booked – well done.
There are no PLDs matches this coming weekend nor next but before the year is done we have West Ham United v Fulham on Saturday 27 December and Crystal Palace v Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday 28 December 2025 to look forward to.
Until then, “Keep Safe” and enjoy your football, Andrew at premierlondonderbies.com .
