In this chaotic and often ill-tempered Premier London Derbies (PLDs) match Tottenham Hotspur came from behind to win 3-2 v Brentford. One commentator said there could have been 15 more goals – but to whom? It was probably the twin midfield substitution by Spurs at half-time and the reshaping of their attack which won the match. Loanee Timo Werner assisted twice. Mercurial left fullback Destiny Udogie, in a Jeckell and Hyde performance, scored the equalizer for Spurs but gifted The Bees their two goals with poor back passes.

For Brentford’s Neal Maupay this was his 100th goal in Professional football. For Spurs this was their 34th consecutive Premier League (PL) match in which they have scored one or more goals. They have not all been wins of course but this one puts them up to 4th in the PL, equal on points (43) and goal difference with Aston Villa, but there on goals scored.

Brentford have slipped to 15th in the PL with 22 points from 21 matches , but have a game in hand over PLDs rivals Crystal Palace (14th with 24 points) and Fulham (13th with 25 points). The Bees next match is at home to defending PL Champions Manchester City, so they may have to wait to make up ground! There are no PLDs matches this coming weekend.

Until next time, “Keep Safe” and enjoy your football, Andrew at PLDs.
