Two under-performing teams, two Head Coaches under pressure, and too much at stake to make too many mistakes. It all adds up to a boring Premier London Derbies (PLDs) draw. Admittedly Spurs had Europe on their mind but this performance shows how little strength in depth they have. Unable to push on after an early goal, West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen, whom they are becoming very reliant on, squared it up, to leave the battle for the lowest PLDs Club in the Premier League (PL) as it was.

The first match of our PLDs Clubs UEFA Semi-finals was Paris St-Germain (PSG) v Arsenal. The Gunners were a goal down from the first leg and never threatened in the second leg despite a 76th minute goal from Bukayo Saka making it 2-1 on the night. So it’s a Champions League Final place for this excellent French side without Kylian Mbappe, now playing for Real Madrid whom Arsenal had beaten in the Quarter-finals. Such is Football.

In the UEFA Europa League it will be an all English Final as Tottenham Hotspur won 0-2 away to Bodo/Glimt in pouring rain and on a plastic pitch, while Manchester United put 4 goals past Athletic (Bilbao) whose ground will host the Final on Wednesday 21 May 2025.

A much changed, and young, Chelsea side scored the only goal of the game at Stamford Bridge to book their place in the UEFA Conference League Final on 28 May in Wroclaw Poland. Their opponents will be Real Betis of Spain who have reached their first European Final in their 118 years of existence. One goal scorer was Antony on loan from Manchester United!

It’s back to the PL for Spurs on Sunday 11 May v Crystal Palace. The Eagles have only won once (2018-19) to The Lilywhites 7 times in the last 8 seasons. Both teams will have their eyes on a Cup Final of one sort or another but perhaps the home Club, “second team” or not, need the win the most if only to stay ahead of West Ham United
