There have been four Premier London Derbies (PLDs) matches in March already, starting with Fulham (2) 2 v 1 (0) Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday 01 March 2026. Spurs Official App had predicted Harry Wilson was “one to watch” but obviously their defence did not as he scored the first (7 minutes) and laid on the second (34) for Alex Iwobi. It was another different team formation for Spurs (4-4-2) but another defeat.
On the same day it was Arsenal (1) 2 v 1 (1) Chelsea as these consistently strong PLDs Clubs met in a tense duel. Both of The Gunners’ goals came from corner kicks and defenders (21, William Saliba, and 66 Jurrien Timber) as did The Blues, being an own goal by Piero Hincapie from Recce James’ corner. Chelsea’s poor disciplinary record was added to by 5 Yellow cards, the 2 to Pedro Neto being a Red card on 70 minutes.
The third PLDs match was Fulham (0) 0 v 1 (0) West Ham United on Wednesday 04 March 2026. 27,191 packed in to Craven Cottage in hopes of Fulham boosting their chances of European football, but instead The Hammers came away with 3 vital points. Once again it was Crysencio Summerville, assisted by Jarrod Bowen and a home defensive mix-up, who scored the goal. What price on his head next season?
Then it was Tottenham Hotspur (1) 1 v 3 (3) Crystal Palace on Thursday 05 March 2026. It was all over in the first half or at least the last 18 minutes of it. Dominic Solanke opened the scoring for Spurs on 34 minutes, home Captain Micky van de Ven was sent off on 38 for a last man offence, with Crystal Palace’s Ismaila Sarr scoring the penalty (40) and a his second on 45+7, and in between Strand Larsen scored the third Eagles goal. What more is there to say about this worse Spurs team for a decade?
Until next time “Keep Safe” and enjoy your football, Andrew at PLDs.
