“Another win for Spurs as Palace falter.”

 25 Gray, assist Kudus

 73 van Hecke

Yellows: Gray                                                                Mingueza, J-P Mateta Red   Ref. M Oliver

Played Saturday 31 October 2026 at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, att. 60,549.

Another win by Tottenham Hotspur, albeit helped by the Red Card for Crystal Palace’s J-P Mateta on 13 minutes, kept the optimism flowing in N17. Spurs took advantage of the numbers and an unmarked Archie Gray, starting at right back, headed home Mohammed Kudus corner kick to the far post. Is he becoming a “must pick” player but where will he play when Pedro Porro returns? The persistence of another defender, Jan Paul van Hecke, gave The Lilywhites their second goal and they saw this one out.

The pressure mounts on Crystal Palace and their Head Coach Pierre Sage after 6 defeats, 2 wins and 1 draw in the Premier League. There was some relief on Thursday 31 October in the UEFA Europa League when it was Crystal Palace 1 v 1 Hoffenheim where they are 20th in the 36 Club league. Promising midfielder Adam Wharton was sent off for two Yellow Cards. That may reflect his frustration at losing Eagles’ players who responded to his forward passing game and his sparkle has gone for now.

There are no Premier London Derbies (PLDs) matches in the rest of November which includes an International Break. Matches resume in earnest in December with 5 PLDs matches between 02 and 12 December featuring all 6 of our Clubs. That includes 2 each for Arsenal, Brentford, Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur with Chelsea v Crystal Palace making up the five matches.

Until then, “Keep Safe”, Andrew at premierlondonderbies.com .
