“Goal-less draws help nobody – or do they?”

There were two Premier London Derbies (PLDs) in the last Premier League (PL) round and both ended goal-less.

                                                     Brentford (0) 0 v 0 (0) Fulham

Yellows: No one                                                                           Referee: Paul Tierney

Played Saturday 18 April 2026 at the Gtech Community Stadium, attendance 17,171.

There was little to shout about in this fixture and the point apiece left both Clubs in their starting places in the PL. The most exciting moment in the game was when Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno saved point blank from Brentford’s Dango Ouattara. To both teams’ credit there was only one Yellow Card between them.

                                           Crystal Palace (0) 0 v 0 (0) West Ham United

Yellows: Munoz, Johnson, Diouf              Referee: Darren England

This one also produced no goals but three Yellow Cards. The point each added to The Eagles’ security but left The Hammers still only 2 points above Tottenham Hotspur in 18th place in the Pl, 3 points behind Nottingham Forest (16th with 36) and 7 less than 15th placed Leeds United whose 40 points must put them very close to safety.

There are no PLDs matches this weekend but Chelsea will be playing in the second FA Cup Semi-final v Leeds United on Sunday 26 April. The Blues have slipped out of the European competition places so a win here is vital and going all the way. There are two more PLDs Clubs in Semi-finals: Arsenal play Atletico in Madrid on Wednesday 29 April in the first leg of the Champions League Semi-final; and on Thursday 30 April its Shakhtar Donetsk v Crystal Palace in the first leg of the UEFA Conference League Semi-final. The Eagles remain tournament favourites but will have a lot of work to do.

Until next time, enjoy your football. Andrew at premierlondonderbies.com .
