Hello and welcome to the first Premier London Derbies (PLDs) blog. We shall be with you each Friday of the coming season. The FA Premier League has started, and now the mini-league within it of the London Derbies has begun. Last season there were the usual 6 teams involved and it finished like this:
Team. Win Draw Loss Goal Difference Points
CHELSEA 7 1 2 + 7 22
TOTTENHAM 6 1 3 + 4 19
ARSENAL 5 2 3 + 10 17
WEST HAM 5 2 3 + 2 17
CRYSTAL PALACE 3 2 5 – 2 11
FULHAM 0 0 10 – 21 0
How did your team do? Chelsea won all their 5 home games to top the table, Arsenal top-scored with 25 goals to get above West Ham, and Spurs squeezed between them into second. Poor old Fulham, and relegated too! It did not improve their all-time Premier London Derbies mini-league position either, where Arsenal and Chelsea now have identical records and Spurs at last have more wins than defeats. Both West Ham and Palace, who will play their 100thPremier London Derby this season on 26 October away to Arsenal, improved their win percentage slightly, while Fulham could only get worse.
